A Diary Of A Chicago Girl

"It's about a girl  who is on the cusp of becoming somone. A girl who may not know what she wants right now, and she may not who she is right now, but who deserves the chance to find out."
-Jodi Picoult, "My Sisters Keeper"

Welcome to a world where boundaries are non-existent in terms of freedom of speech and press.  Welcome to a world where fairytales are inevitable.  Welcome to growth and prosperity amongst a seemingly calamitous environment.  Most importantly, welcome to the stomping grounds where words run rampid and truth holds the key to the rest of your life.

This is my truth.  This is my diary.  This is my life on "paper."

I salivated, so to speak, over fine pieces of literature; ancient stories depicting an abundance of beauty despite the surrounding pollution.  I dream, still, of becoming a writer of all things beautiful and true.  I've endured and persevered.  I've loved and lost.  I've been convicted and saved.  I never lost faith and always kept truth within the humanly being I am.

Don't get it twisted, I'm just a young woman exploiting growth within myself in an environment enabled by many.  I am not perfect.  I am learning daily on how to allow grace into my life and love into my heart despite the heartbreak, in varying areas, experienced.

I hope whoever reads this finds these words in good faith because the following writing is my truth, experience, and hope to those who, like me, are trying to grow up when growing up used to cease to be an option, always an alternitive, and never a definitive.

Welcome.
